Patient Rameshbhai Shah aged 86 years now, was first seen by Dr,Sameer Dani on 08/04/2021 at Apollo CVHF Heart institute, Ahmedabad with history of Non obstructive artery disease. He came here to get second opinion as he was experiencing breathlessness on exertion. He was diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis on echocardiography.
He visited Apollo CVHF Heart Institute again on 10/12/2022, with complain of breathlessness on even little exertion as severity of his Aortic Stenosis increased. He was advised Aortic Valve replacement Surgery at some other hospital. Rameshbhai was reluctant to undergo Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery because of his age. At Apollo CVHF Heart Institute, Ahmedabad , Dr.Sameer Dani discussed with him various treatment options such as Conventional Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery, Valve replacement with MICS and Trans catheter Aortic Valve Replacement ( TAVR ). After understanding Pros & Cons of all the three treatment options he opted to go for TAVR procedure because of the non surgical approach of the procedure, fast recovery and minimal hospital stay.
Rameshbhai underwent TAVR procedure on 9th March 2022 by Dr.Sameer Dani & Dr.Raj Makkar. Rameshbhai tolerated TAVR procedure very well and was ambulated and shifted from ICU to rooms within less than 24 hours time. He was discharged from the hospital on 11/03/2022.
